How to Start Selling on Kaspi.kz Marketplace and Automate Product Operations

17 October 2026

Kaspi.kz has long outgrown the typical product marketplace. It is a bank, a payment system, a delivery service, and a marketplace in a single app. According to Kaspi’s Q1 2026 report, marketplace sales grew 19% year over year to 2.2 trillion tenge. Online sales rose 41% to 1.3 trillion tenge. The ecosystem includes more than 900,000 merchants in Kazakhstan and Türkiye.

For FMCG manufacturers, distributors, and retailers, this is a strong argument for entering the platform. But getting from registration to steady profit takes real work. In this article, we cover how to get started, what to know about commissions, delivery, and listing requirements, and how to avoid drowning in manual catalog work.

Why Kaspi.kz

The marketplace itself cites the following figures:

  • sales grow more than twofold compared with traditional retail, and up to fivefold during promotions;
  • average order value increases by more than 25%;
  • orders come from 14 million users across Kazakhstan;
  • sellers receive the full amount immediately for purchases made on installment or credit;
  • sellers can take part in platform promotions.

The model has a flip side. Some categories and brands require approval. Your price cannot exceed the market price by more than 15%, and you cannot build additional costs into it. It is also best to calculate commissions, delivery, and returns in advance.

Who Can Sell and What You Need to Get Started

Sole proprietors and limited liability partnerships can sell on Kaspi. An entrepreneur is registered with a personal ID, and they are liable for the business’s obligations, including with personal assets. LLP requires a founding decision, a decision appointing a director, and a charter. If the company has several founders, a founders’ agreement is added. You can register the business remotely by opening a business bank account.

Next, you need to meet three platform requirements:

  • Connect to Kaspi Pay: download the app and register.
  • Accept payments to your Kaspi Pay account on at least 20 days within the last 2 months. This is how the platform screens out unreliable sellers.
  • Sell physical goods only. Services are listed in the Kaspi “Listings” service.

If you want to sell your own manufactured products, you need to obtain approval. This requires an application, the company’s BIN, and the trademark certificate registration number.

As of January 1, 2026, stores on Kaspi.kz are integrated with the National Product Catalog (NPC). If a seller uses Kaspi Kassa, product barcodes in the seller account are checked against the NPC. If a product is not in the catalog, you can still start selling it and, if necessary, register it yourself.

What You Can and Cannot Sell

Many categories are permitted: beauty and health, auto products, kids’ products, home goods, pharmacy, clothing and footwear, home appliances, food, sports, stationery, pet products, and more. For FMCG brands, this means almost the entire assortment is eligible.

The following are prohibited:

  • used goods, counterfeits, and replicas;
  • 18+ products, spy equipment, and products hazardous to health (weapons, smoking products);
  • digital goods: subscriptions and activation keys;
  • samples and products intended for free distribution;
  • uniforms of the military, law enforcement, and tax authorities;
  • products with prohibited symbols or offensive imagery.

Some brands and categories require separate approval. One form is used for brands and another for categories. Before adding a product, it is best to check the current lists in the Kaspi Guide.

How Much It Costs to Sell

The marketplace charges a commission only on a completed sale, and the funds arrive the next day. If the buyer cancels the order, the money is returned to your account. The commission rate depends on the category.

Since January 5, 2026, Kaspi has been quoting the commission excluding VAT and adding the tax separately. The commission itself has not changed. For preliminary calculations, it is easier to work with the rates including VAT:

On top of the commission, add delivery, advertising, taxes, and returns. Only then will your margin become clear. It helps to track unit economics separately for each marketplace: this shows where Kaspi is more profitable than Amazon or eBay, and where it is not.

Three Delivery Options

Kaspi offers three main delivery methods. The right choice depends on your order size, warehouse, and target cities.

Kaspi Delivery works on an FBS model. You store the goods yourself, pack the order, and hand it over at a drop-off point. Kaspi takes it from there. Delivery takes 1 day on average within a city, 2–3 days to regional centers, and 5–6 days to district centers. The cost depends on the destination, order value, and weight.

My Delivery (DBS). You deliver orders yourself. If the order is under 5,000 tenge, the buyer pays up to 995 tenge. If it is over 5,000 tenge, delivery is free for the buyer. The order must be delivered on the day it is received or the next business day.

Express Delivery. You pack the order within an hour, and a Kaspi courier delivers it to the buyer in 60 minutes to 4 hours. You can sign up if you meet the following conditions:

  • your warehouse is within the coverage area;
  • your warehouse is open at least from 10:00 to 17:00;
  • you already use Kaspi Delivery;
  • your share of late handovers is below 10%;
  • you have shipped at least 30 orders.

The service is available in 17 cities, including Almaty, Astana, Shymkent, Karaganda, and Aktobe. Express is switched off for missed deadlines and can be reactivated only after 14 days.

Kaspi Postomat is a separate option. Buyers pick up their orders from a locker using a QR code at a time that suits them. There are more than 10,000 of these devices across the country: in branches, shopping malls, gas stations, and business centers.

How to Maintain Store Quality

Kaspi does not impose monetary fines, but a store can be restricted or blocked, sometimes permanently. The platform tracks four metrics:

  • a rating of at least 4 stars;
  • seller-fault cancellations of no more than 3%;
  • delays in handing over orders to Kaspi Delivery below 10%;
  • quality-related returns below 2%.

If your status is “Poor,” you have 14 calendar days to fix the issues. If you miss that window, the “My Store on Kaspi.kz” service and external advertising are switched off. At “Very poor” status, your rating drops to 3.0, your store falls out of the top three offers on a product listing, and your products may be removed from sale.

A common cause of problems is inaccurate inventory. An order is accepted, but the item is out of stock, so the order has to be canceled. These cancellations pile up, and the store loses ranking. That is why it pays to keep a close eye on inventory and price data.

How a Seller Wins the Top Spot on a Product Listing

On Kaspi, several sellers can share one product listing. Their order is determined by four factors: buyer bonuses, price, rating, and number of reviews.

Sellers who offer bonuses are shown first. If there are no bonuses, or they are equal, the seller with the lower price ranks higher. If prices are equal, rating and number of reviews are compared.

To grow sales, sellers also use:

  • Product advertising. The minimum cost per click is 3 tenge, and the daily budget starts at 1,000 tenge. Kaspi recommends running a campaign for at least two weeks so the algorithm has time to learn.
  • Platform promotions with increased bonuses and installment plans of 6, 12, and 24 months. The calendar is available in Kaspi Pay.
  • Pre-orders. You can list a product for up to 45 days without tying up money in procurement.
  • Repricing. Automatic price adjustment based on competitors’ lowest prices.

Adding Products

Manual entry is simple: in the mobile app or seller account, find the product in the shared catalog, enter the price and stock, and within 15 minutes the product goes on sale.

If you can’t find it, you create a new listing: upload photos, select a category, and fill in the attributes. Moderation takes up to 3 business days.

For bulk uploads, there are category-specific templates. You can download a file, fill it in, add photos in a ZIP archive, and upload it. Prices and stock are updated through a price list in Excel or XML.

Listing requirements:

  • photos of at least 800×800 pixels in JPG or PNG;
  • a white or neutral background, with no watermarks or logos;
  • the product fills at least 80% of the frame;
  • a structured description without filler language, accurate attributes, and the correct brand, category, and SKU code.

A couple dozen products can be added in an evening. But a large catalog quickly runs into difficulties. Every category requires its own template, every field has its own format, and typos or a missed attribute are always a risk.

Which Manual Tasks to Automate

A content manager at an FMCG company often looks for attributes in supplier spreadsheets, photos in a cloud folder, and descriptions in emails from the brand manager. For Kaspi, all of this has to be assembled into one template; for Amazon and eBay, into different ones. A week later, the brand changes the composition or packaging, and the updates have to be made in each file one by one.

Here is what happens next:

  • one channel keeps the old photo while another shows the new one;
  • the price is updated in Excel but not in the Kaspi export;
  • a listing is rejected for a missing required field, and the launch slips by several days;
  • an employee goes on vacation, and nobody knows which version of the spreadsheet is current.

The cost of errors keeps rising. A wrong price on a promotion day means lost margin on hundreds of items. Outdated stock leads to canceled orders and a lower rating. And, importantly, the time the team spends copying data between spreadsheets is time taken away from the content itself and from promotion. When a seller adds another marketplace, the workload doubles.

Kaspi sellers automate several areas. For example, repricing bots monitor competitors around the clock and adjust prices within set limits, never dropping below the minimum price. Automated messaging services notify buyers of order status and ask them to leave a review. On average, only 30% of customers leave a review on their own, and the rating, which is updated every 90 days, directly affects search ranking.

To streamline work with products and listings, reduce risk, and move away from manual spreadsheets, sellers use MARKETPROVIDER PIM. It is a platform for managing product content: data collection, product listing creation and enrichment, media storage, completeness checks, and export to Kaspi.kz and other marketplaces.

How MARKETPROVIDER PIM Works with Kaspi.kz

  • Storage. Attributes, descriptions, images, and prices are stored in MARKETPROVIDER.
  • Scenario selection. You specify what you need: add new products or update existing ones.
  • File generation. The system builds an XLS file in Kaspi’s structure and populates all required and optional fields.
  • Upload. The finished file is uploaded to your Kaspi seller account.
  • Updates. If the data changes, re-exporting takes a few seconds.

There are two templates. The first is for adding products: SKU, brand, model, category, attributes, descriptions, images, price, and stock. The second is for updates: prices, stock, and publication statuses change without recreating listings.

The system also maps data to marketplace categories, checks requirements, exports products by filter (categories, brands, SKUs, statuses), and generates files automatically on a schedule.

How a PIM system benefits sellers:

  • New products reach the marketplace many times faster, with no manual spreadsheet entry.
  • Formatting errors, missing fields, and template mismatches are eliminated.
  • A catalog of 500+ SKUs takes the same effort as a catalog of 50 items.
  • After a promotion launches, prices are updated across the entire catalog within a minute.
  • Kaspi and other sales channels are managed from a single system.

How to Migrate Product Listings from Amazon and eBay to Kaspi

If you already sell on other marketplaces, even better. Migrating listings comes down to adapting what you already have. Say the attributes, descriptions, and images are already in MARKETPROVIDER. Three steps remain:

  • Map attributes. Link your catalog fields to Kaspi.kz attributes and categories. If needed, configure value transformations and fill in any missing details in your listings.
  • Prepare the file. Choose a scenario (adding new products or updating) and generate a file in the marketplace’s template.
  • Upload it to your Kaspi account and check the publication results.

After that, adding products to a new marketplace becomes a routine export from the same catalog.

The integration is best suited for:

  • sellers with an assortment of 50+ SKUs who need to get onto the platform quickly;
  • suppliers who sell through multiple stores and distributors;
  • retailers who update listings frequently;
  • FMCG brands where each product has dozens of pack size, flavor, and volume variants, and ingredient information must be consistent across all channels.

A PIM system becomes the single source of truth in place of countless spreadsheets and scripts, giving the team unified content standards across all channels and fewer disruptions caused by uncoordinated edits.

Where to Start Selling on Kaspi

  1. Set up a company and connect Kaspi Pay.
  2. Meet the payment acceptance requirement: 20 days within the last 2 months.
  3. Calculate unit economics, factoring in commission, delivery, advertising, taxes, and returns.
  4. Choose a delivery model.
  5. Bring your product content together in one place and align it with Kaspi’s requirements.
  6. Upload your products, wait for moderation, and verify the publication.
  7. Monitor your rating, stock, and order handover times, and update prices ahead of promotional periods.
  8. Scale your assortment and channels from a single catalog.

The fifth step determines how quickly you get through the rest. The more carefully you assemble your data, the fewer listings will be sent back for revision, and the faster products reach buyers.

A single PIM system removes the manual workload: data is stored in one place, templates are generated automatically, and changes carry over easily to all marketplaces.

Try MARKETPROVIDER. Our team will help you set up automatic generation of templates for Kaspi.kz, build out your content infrastructure, and launch exports within a few days.
